About Me

J.C. Howard is a proud Oaklander, currently based in the Washington, D.C. area. He is a Producer for NPR’s How I Built This with Guy Raz, and an occasional panelist on Pop Culture Happy Hour. Previous projects include: producing for TED Radio Hour, writing for NPR’s Car Talk, and producing for 91.7FM KALW—creating radio edits of the KALW project/Radiotopia podcast 99% Invisible. J.C. also formerly worked as a General Assignment Reporter for KALW's Crosscurrents Program. And—in case it ever comes up—he loves breakfast.

As a graduate of the First Voice Apprenticeship Program, (2016), J.C. was a host and producer for the cultural affairs Radio-magazine Full Circle on 94.1FM KPFA in Berkeley, California. In 2012 J.C. began hosting and producing a News & Current Events Podcast called the Cut Down Podcast.

While living in the Bay Area, J.C. was Social Media Manager for All Pro Wrestling. His passions include storytelling (ergo the wrestling gimmick), writing, and participating in life!

J.C. holds a Master of the Arts in Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga University. A pursuit he began in 2009 before failing miserably shortly after (it’s a whole story), and finally completing the degree in 2017.

I wear Flat Caps...flat caps are cool.
